My go-to flare-day sequence
Warm up. Target the tight spots. Wind all the way down.
When pain takes over the day, I do not need twelve products and a complicated schedule. I need a simple sequence that feels manageable: steady warmth, targeted comfort, and a bath that clearly announces we are done pretending to be productive.
01 Begin with steady warmth
Infrared Sauna Blanket
This is the first step when pain changes the plan and my whole body wants warmth—not one tiny heating-pad square playing whack-a-mole with sore spots.
I use mine during a quiet podcast or meditation and begin at a lower temperature. The goal is a contained, calming heat session that helps me slow down and gives stiff, heavy muscles a gentler environment.
- Wraparound warmth instead of one small hot spot
- Temperature can be increased gradually
- Easy to pair with an intentional rest period
02 Follow with targeted comfort
Magnesium Spray
I keep this near the bed because apparently my calves and shoulders enjoy submitting complaints after business hours.
A few sprays make this a quick, targeted part of the wind-down routine. It is convenient when I want to focus on one tight area without turning the evening into another complicated wellness project.
- Quick application before bed
- Easy to keep in a pain basket
- Targets one area without bulky equipment
03 End with the full-body wind-down
Dead Sea Salt Bath Soak
The final step is less about chasing productivity and more about politely informing the entire nervous system that office hours are over.
I add the salts to a warm—not aggressively hot—bath and let the soak become the transition out of flare-day mode. The ritual gives me time to stop bracing, breathe, and work with my body instead of arguing with it.
- Warm, whole-body comfort
- A clear end-of-day ritual
- Pairs naturally with a quiet, low-stimulation routine
